I'm currently 1000 KM away from the car. The Mechanical fuel pump leaked and the oil thinned, leaking fuel into the sump. This caused one of two things (or maybe both). The first possibility is that the thin oil contaminated the fuel/air mixture and caused major detonation, hence holing the piston. The second thing that might have happened is that the thin oil didn't lubricate the bore walls and it burned the rings out/glazed the bores. It still pulls a fair bit of vacuum and runs but it blows LOTS of smoke. While it was running it pulled quite hard and I'm sure it would still be running happily at 6PSI if not for the fuel pump failure. It hit boost at 1800RPM and pulled quite strong from 2200 RPM to 5500 RPM and has a huge amount of torque.

I'm now waiting for a set of cast pistons from the USA. The new motor is going to be built with a 7.5:1 C/R so it should be good for 14 PSI if not more. I'm also going to hook up the electric fuel pump when the new motor goes in. It's all a matter of time and money at the moment. (it doesn't help being in the next state either)

This is my VF Regal Sedan. It's currently running a stock 1980 model 265 and 4 speed B/W single rail. I'm planning  to install a 3.5:1 diff ratio and probably weld or mini-spool the centre while I'm at it. I'll fit what little rust it has when summer rolls round and I can get a few weekends without rain. The aerial is going to go to clean up the rear end.

The Matt black guard gives it plenty of street cred!! The turbo should make it back up the looks. Notice how far the grill pokes out? Plenty of room for the intercooler.
